SUMMARY STATEMENT OF OUR CHRISTIAN FAITH

We believe:

· In one holy, loving, all-powerful, and gracious Creator God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

· The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, fully authoritative for all matters of faith and practice.

· That Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully human, is both Lord and Savior.

· That Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross for human sin, that he was raised bodily on the third day, and that he ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father.

· That Jesus Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead and to reign over all things.

· In the Holy Spirit, who brings sinners to repentance, who gives eternal life to believers, and who lives in them to conform them to the image of Jesus Christ.

· That Christians should gather in regular fellowship and live lives of faith that make evident the good news that humans enter the kingdom of God by putting their trust in Jesus Christ.

· In the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

· That salvation comes not by works, but only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

· In the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

Is Sunday School Failing?
ChurchRelevance.com recently posted some research coming from Ken Ham’s new book Already Gone that takes a look at trends that suggest Sunday school is failing at making long term disciples. The findings focus on 20 to 29-year-old evangelicals.  Around 95% of those surveyed regularly attended church in elementary and middle schools.  As other research has shown, [...]

Well this story not only happens “Once upon a [...]

Jelly Telly
Phil Vischer—you know, the VeggieTales guy—recently announced he’s getting back into Christian media. How, you ask? Well, he’s launching a kids media studio that will distribute exclusively on the internet through a monthly subscription service. Oh, and you get to pick your price. It’s just crazy enough to work. He explains how and why in the video below [...]

Defending the Church
Despite the Church’s efforts to distance its present from the past, is it working? Mark Sayers opines about how our less than perfect past is leading to young adults leaving the Church: Many Christian young adults feel that they are living on the wrong side of Christian history. When they share their faith with their secular [...]

Reaching Out to Young Adults
Trevin Wax relates some of the thoughts he picked up from Robert Wuthnow’s book After the Baby Boomers about how to reach out to young adults (18 to twenty-somethings). Rejected Sunday School Lessons
Steve Case is one of the funniest people I know. He’s written a lot of brilliant, cutting-edge youth ministry books for Youth Specialties. Apparently he has some kind of pent-up angst and wrote the book most youth and children’s ministers have wanted to write at one time or another – Rejected Sunday School Lessons: Totally [...]

Does college drive people from the church? Three myths about church drop-outs
Why do so many 18-22 year-olds drop out of church after high school? Not for the reasons you might think. Hey kids—believe in Jesus, or else!
Did anybody tune in earlier this week to watch Hard as Nails, a documentary about a “tough love” Catholic youth ministry run by Justin Fatica? Newsweek has a short piece about the ministry. The Mountaintop Experience

The Mountaintop aspires to be an inter-denominational, multi-cultural Christian youth camp devoted to loving teenagers while encouraging them to seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or to go deeper in their relationship with Him

Who We Are

The Mountaintop Camp (formerly known as Discovery Weekend) is a 3-day weekend camp experience held at the beautiful Woodland Christian Camp in Temple, Georgia. The Mountaintop is a charted youth camp of Generations Ministries, a sponsored ministry of the Worldwide Church of God.

Woodland's Heritage

Woodland was established in 1969 as a non-profit ministry of Christian Camping.  The legacy of Woodland's leaders cast a vision of excellence in facilities and programming.  From that beginning, Woodland has grown into a multifaceted ministry, four camps on one 120 acre site, a challenge ropes course and a popular retreat location for many different types of groups.  Over 10,000 people a year enjoy the unique facilities of Woodland.
